Hope you sent this to the Thumper Page as well. Not many people will bother to take a second look at the bike if that was the only report they see. I've seen others online with similar attitudes, and in fact have read the same type of report in the national magazines. Reports like these WILL kill off this model. The same thing happened to the 450 Rebel. Now highly collectible, try finding new parts for one at a reasonable price. That's why Lisa's will probably be down a couple more years, until she finishes college. Then I might be able to afford $750 carbs sets, $500 gas tank, $150 petcock, etc. Do we want the same thing to happen to our baby bikes as happened to hers? There are already too few user friendly entry level cruisers. We need to keep this one alive. If someone in your area is interested in a Savage, tell them the truth about the bike, good AND bad point alike. If they buy one, GREAT! If they don't, they'll at least have made a better informed decision.
That's just my opinion, but you know what, I earned it. I own, ride, modify, nearly live on this bike.
